Greek Vanilla Fir Honey – From the Slopes of Mount Arcadia

Our Greek Vanilla Fir Honey is a rare and naturally produced honey harvested in the Peloponnese region, specifically from the fir forests of Mount Arcadia. This exceptional honey is not made from flower nectar but from the honeydew found on the bark and needles of Black Fir trees. It’s known for its rich composition, mild taste, and unique texture. A honeydew variety, it is naturally higher in minerals and amino acids compared to floral honeys and remains runny for longer periods.

Key Features

  • Flavour: Mild and buttery, with subtle caramel notes
  • Texture: Thick, smooth, and easily spreadable
  • Colour: Pale, between pearl and vanilla hues

Available Packaging

Choose from a variety of sizes to suit your needs: 280g, 450g, and 1kg glass jars (fully recyclable), or 3kg BPA-free shatterproof plastic containers.

Taste Profile

Vanilla Fir Honey has a velvety and smooth texture with a deep, rich flavour reminiscent of vanilla and light caramel. It’s low in sugars compared to typical flower honeys and leaves a gentle, woody aftertaste. The name comes from its colour—not its ingredients, as it contains no vanilla extract.

Why It Stands Out

  • Harvested only during a short window in early June, making it one of the most limited and exclusive honeys in the world
  • Does not crystallize easily due to its honeydew origin
  • Extracted using centrifugal force without any heating, preserving its natural nutritional value
  • Rich in essential minerals like potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron
  • May support digestion, metabolism, and immune function
  • Suitable for those watching their sugar intake, including diabetics (in small quantities)

Suggested Uses

This honey is a flavourful and healthier substitute for processed sugar. It pairs beautifully with tea, toast, yogurt, cereal, pancakes, and desserts. Its mild sweetness also makes it a favourite among children and those with a light sweet preference.

Storage Tips

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Crystallization is a natural process and a sign of unprocessed honey
  • To re-liquefy, place the jar in warm water without exceeding 45°C
  • Always ensure the lid is tightly closed to avoid moisture contamination

Additional Notes

  • Honey’s colour and taste may vary slightly between batches due to seasonal changes and natural factors
  • Not suitable for children under one year old
  • Packaging is available in recyclable glass and BPA-free plastic containers
  • Photos and videos are for reference only. Texture and colour may change depending on crystallization and season
